I personally don't have many flying issues - I actually like it - but have to confess that I'm totally, absolutely flummoxed that those things can get up in the air. I'm a lit girl, not a physicist, and while I understand there are some sort of principles and laws that govern flight (blah blah blah), it just doesn't make sense to me.

My husband favors your preparation - he drinks (heavily) before any trip.

My latest concern though, after having multiple guests arrive for Turkey via plane, is that airplanes seem to be little more than huge flying petri dishes. Even at sea, you figure (probably wrongly), if something happens, at least I can swim.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2883979841111173610.post-52980541815487291432009-11-30T01:06:02.125-05:002009-11-30T01:06:02.125-05:00You live near Detroit? So many stories...

Why do babies always cry during takeoff? The sober-minded scientists among us would say it's a simple matter of painful pressure changes in their ears, which adults understand and therefore tolerate. Maybe. Or maybe they KNOW gravity is being defied, and they're the only ones smart enough to voice their concern.Barbarohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04038516078498541056noreply@blogger.com
