DOGS AND DIGNITY

In Chile, both man and dog seem to be having fun in these clips, and the pooch is amazing. So why don't I completely enjoy it? Am I a party-pooper to wonder if it it's too much about the guy, his center stage and his control of the dog? I won't lose sleep over it, but I wonder if anyone else sees something a bit icky here.

In the second clip, we might see enough of the guy to think he's okay (of course, I can't keep up with his Spanish--who knows what he's actually saying?). Opinions welcome.

Here endeth Deep Thoughts for this Monday.

Eww eww eww. I saw the first one somewhere else and turned it off right away.

Did you see the video link in my comment on Hiker's post about her garden, Growing Home? That's ALL about dogs and dignity. It's near the very end of the comments.

I had signed off for the night but I had to come back and say that second dog was just on David Letterman. It wasn't an improvement.

The Russians have produced these kind of results with cats. Cold war secrets; I'm certain

Paula, I'm not sure I knew how to spell "Eww," but it immediately made sense--it might be a better rating system than 5 banjos.

No, I haven't looked at that link yet, but now I will. I did see the Letterman, and I agree, it didn't help matters.

PA, sounds as if you're serious. Fascinating. Should we google it?

Just watched Paula's clip, a feel-good thing about dogs for sure. A perfect flip side to the doggie puppet-dance I posted.

People do this to their pets because... why?
