I came across that top photo and immodestly loved it all over again. That got my eyes and mind on the mockingbird. And mockery. And what's happening in economics and politics.
Then I came across Doc's (Tom Paxton's) famous and excellent song of farewell; I thought (melodramatically, I hope) of farewells to life savings. And from there to how ironically--even sarcastically--one could hear Pattie's song.
And from there to the arguably evil eye of "my" mockingbird in the photo.
